How do I test out my printer?
Once you've connected your printer, you will now want to test whether the automatic printing works. In order to do this, you can follow these steps:
Before you test: make sure the printer is connected
A test print will only work once the printer is actually connected to your device. If you are not using an iMin or Sunmi device, check the following first (full details are in How do I set-up my printer?):
Requirements
- A compatible printer (e.g., RPP02N).
- The correct paper roll size: 58mm or 80mm for docket printers / 50mm x 40mm for sticker printers.
- For USB printers: a wire for the printer power adapter, a wire from the printer to the tablet/USB-C hub, and if needed a USB Type 3.0 to USB Type-C Converter.
- Printing, whether USB or Bluetooth, only works with the Google Play Store app (Android Enterprise App). You can still access the Enterprise web portal using iOS, Safari browser, or any other browser, but it would not provide support for printing.
Bluetooth printers
- Make sure your klikit app is updated to the latest version.
- Navigate to your klikit device's Bluetooth Settings and turn Bluetooth on, search for the printer in the Bluetooth device list, then select the printer and enter the PIN (usually 1234 or 0000, or as specified in the printer manual).
- Open the klikit for Business app and grant Location Permission for the klikit app when prompted.
- Go to Account > Printer Settings, tap Show Devices, select your printer, and confirm the status changes to Connected (highlighted in green).
The maximum radius distance of your device from the Bluetooth printer is 15-20 feet.
USB printers
- Connect the printer to your klikit device using a USB Type A to USB Type C cable or hub.
- Open the klikit for Business app and go to Account > Printer Settings. Your USB printer should automatically appear — select it to connect.
Once connected, continue with the test print steps below.
Test print steps
- Go to the "Add Order" feature
- Create a test order
- Accept the order by clicking on the "☑️" button
- Wait for the docket to come out from the printer.
- You can select the "🚫" button to cancel the order in order for it not to be part of your data.
Congratulations! You have created a test print-out!
