How to Set Up GoFood for Your Indonesian Restaurant
A complete step-by-step guide to registering your warung or restaurant on GoFood, from merchant signup to going live and receiving your first orders in Indonesia.
Step 1 of 7
Register as a GoFood Merchant
Visit the GoBiz website or download the GoBiz app to begin your merchant registration. You will need your KTP (national ID), NPWP (tax number), bank account details, and a photo of your restaurant storefront. Fill in your business name, address, and operating hours accurately.
Use your restaurant's legal business name exactly as it appears on your NPWP to speed up verification.
GoFood verification can take 3-7 business days. Do not submit multiple applications as it may delay your approval.
Set Up Your GoBiz Dashboard
Once approved, log in to GoBiz and configure your restaurant profile. Set your operating hours for each day of the week, configure your delivery radius, and ensure your restaurant pin location on the map is accurate. This affects how customers find you in the GoFood app.
Upload Your Menu with Categories
Create menu categories such as Makanan Utama (Main Dishes), Minuman (Beverages), Cemilan (Snacks), and Paket Hemat (Value Bundles). Add each item with a clear Indonesian name, description in Bahasa Indonesia, and accurate portion details. Organize items logically so customers can browse easily.
Set Prices in Rupiah with Delivery Markup
Price your menu items in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Factor in GoFood's commission (typically 20-25%) when setting prices. Most restaurants add a 10-20% markup compared to dine-in prices to cover platform fees. Round prices to the nearest Rp 1,000 for clean display. Consider creating delivery-exclusive bundles like Paket Nasi + Minum starting from Rp 25,000.
Take High-Quality Food Photos
GoFood requires photos of at least 300x300 pixels, but aim for 1080x1080 for best results. Use natural lighting or a simple lightbox. Photograph each dish from a 45-degree angle on a clean background. Include garnishes and side dishes to make portions look generous. GoFood listings with photos receive up to 3x more orders than those without.
Configure Add-Ons and Modifiers
Set up menu modifiers for common customizations: spice level (Tidak Pedas, Sedang, Pedas), extra toppings (Tambah Telur for Rp 5,000), portion sizes, and drink preferences (Es/Panas). Add-ons increase your average order value by 15-25%. Group related modifiers together and set minimum/maximum selection limits.
Set Up Promotions and Go Live
Before going live, set up an opening promotion to attract initial customers. GoFood offers co-funded promotions where Gojek covers part of the discount. Consider a "Diskon 30% up to Rp 15,000" deal for your first two weeks. Enable self-funded promos like free delivery or buy-one-get-one on selected items. Once everything is ready, toggle your store status to active in GoBiz and start accepting orders.
