Foodpanda Left Thailand: What Restaurants Do Next
Foodpanda stopped operating in Thailand on 23 May 2025, after 13 years in the market. Its parent company, Delivery Hero, announced the exit on 23 April 2025 as part of a wider pull-back to markets with stronger growth and profitability.
Where Foodpanda's restaurants went
Before it closed, Foodpanda Thailand signed a strategic redirection agreement with Robinhood, the Thai food delivery app run by Purple Ventures. The agreement was meant to help Foodpanda's customers, restaurant partners and riders move across to Robinhood.
Robinhood is a separate business, not part of Delivery Hero. Selling on it means setting up and running your store on Robinhood's own platform.
What changed for Thai restaurants
- Foodpanda orders ended on 23 May 2025. Any Foodpanda store, menu or promotion you ran in Thailand is no longer live.
- The main delivery apps left are GrabFood, ShopeeFood, Robinhood and LINE MAN Wongnai. Each runs its own merchant app, menu and commission terms.
- Your own ordering channel matters more. With one fewer app in the market, a direct ordering link gives regular customers a way to reach you that no platform controls.
How klikit fits in
In Thailand, klikit connects GrabFood and ShopeeFood to one order dashboard, alongside your own klikit webshop. Orders from both apps arrive in one place, so your staff aren't watching a separate tablet for each app.
klikit does not connect to Robinhood today. If you also sell on Robinhood, manage those orders in Robinhood's own merchant app.
A checklist if you sold on Foodpanda
- Take Foodpanda off your channels. Remove it from menus, signage, packaging inserts and social profiles, and replace any QR code that sent customers to your Foodpanda store.
- Decide which apps replace that volume. GrabFood and ShopeeFood can run through klikit; Robinhood runs in its own app.
- Check your prices per app. Each app sets its own commission, so a price that worked on Foodpanda may need adjusting elsewhere.
- Give regulars a direct link. Point them to your own webshop, where you set the prices.
